Built for Business.
A year of growth, giving back, and neighborhood pride along the streets of West Annapolis.
A Message to Our Members
Dear Fellow West Annapolis Business Members,
The thing I love most about being a part of WABA is the community that it brings. It’s such a privilege to get to know you and learn about your businesses. It’s awesome to partner with the Civic Association and ensure that our neighbors know about you. And while we said goodbye to some businesses and welcomed exciting new ones, what stood out most this year was the reminder of how much this neighborhood shows up for itself.
This year’s Oktoberfest was our biggest turnout yet. The event brought thousands of people to our corner of West Annapolis. Visibility is everything, and a main goal of WABA is ensuring West Annapolis stays top of mind for shoppers, diners, and neighbors throughout the year.
Thanks to the success of Oktoberfest, we were able to give back to the community that supports us. We made a charitable contribution to the West Annapolis Civic Association to aid neighborhood beautification and ivy removal — beautification is good for all of us!
All of the events, social posts and behind the scenes planning couldn’t happen without a dedicated team. I’d like to recognize our board for their endless creativity and energy. I also want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to three people stepping away from the board — each of them gave so much to WABA. Greg Pitts served as our Vice President for three years and was instrumental in helping restructure WABA in the years following COVID. Aleshia Marshall supported the board in so many ways, not the least of which was walking us through the months of preparation and paperwork required to make Oktoberfest come to fruition. SuAnne Morabito gave a year of dedicated support as a Member Liaison, championing the Spring Festival and our membership efforts. We are grateful for all of them!!
And to each of you — thank you for being part of WABA. Here’s to another great year!

2025 Highlights
Everything WABA does is designed to put eyes on your business — from signature events that draw thousands to the neighborhood, to social media reach that keeps West Annapolis top of mind all year long.
Oktoberfest
Our flagship event drew an estimated 3,000 attendees — bringing real foot traffic and visibility to member businesses. Co-produced with the West Annapolis Civic Association, it’s one of the best-attended events in the City of Annapolis.
May Day Market (formerly the West Annapolis Spring Festival)
Our street-level market brought shoppers directly to Annapolis Street, putting member businesses front and center. A festive, community-driven event that showcases everything West Annapolis has to offer.
May Day Storefront Competition
Member businesses competed for the best-decorated storefront, generating organic social buzz and drawing foot traffic down the street. A low-cost, high-visibility activation that’s become a neighborhood favorite.
Member Meetings: Networking & Learning
Quarterly member gatherings brought business owners together to connect, share leads, and learn from one another. Equal parts networking and education — a direct benefit of WABA membership.
A Strong Year for WABA
Total income of $73,117 against $50,097 in expenses left WABA with a net income of $23,020 — a healthy foundation heading into 2026.
