SuAnne Martinez has turned her love of art, design, and unexpected treasures into West Annapolis Artworks & Fine Framing, a place where creativity, craftsmanship, and one-of-a-kind finds flourish.
SuAnne Martinez was still a teenager the first time she reached for a frame, and something about it stuck. It wasn’t the finished piece so much as everything that led up to it: finding the right frame, the right matting, the right proportions, all the small choices that quietly change how a piece feels. Four decades later, that same passion is what still brings her to the shop every day.
West Annapolis Artworks & Fine Framing, on Annapolis Street, is part custom framing studio, part art gallery, and part treasure hunt. Visitors will find thoughtfully curated artwork, unusual vintage pieces, and custom framing designed to showcase everything from family heirlooms and fine art to vacation finds and a child’s first masterpiece. After nearly 40 years in the framing industry, SuAnne has watched styles, materials, and techniques evolve, and she enjoys continually discovering new ways to help people display and preserve what matters most.
Honoring the Trust
When someone walks through the door with a family treasure, a vacation find, a piece of art, or something their child created, SuAnne knows they’re bringing in more than an object. Whether it’s valuable to the world or simply priceless to its owner, every piece deserves thoughtful care.
She approaches every project with that responsibility in mind, combining design, craftsmanship, and preservation to create something worthy of the story behind it. She especially enjoys the projects that leave people wondering, “What do I do with this?” An old photograph tucked away for years. A keepsake that has never found a place on the wall. A piece of artwork that no longer feels right in its current frame. “I love helping people see the possibilities,” she says. Together they discover a design that protects the piece, complements its story, and creates something they’ll enjoy living with every day.

What sets SuAnne apart is her personal approach. She carefully studies each piece, listens to each customer, and considers what will create the right balance of beauty, proportion, and longevity.
Sometimes the perfect design is simple. Sometimes it’s unexpected. And sometimes it takes a little experimenting to find exactly the right combination. What it never is, she says, is rushed.
